 RE: VIRAL VIDEO OF WOMAN ASSAULTED BY SUSPECTED THUG NEAR ORIENTAL HOTEL The Lagos State Police Command is aware of a viral video circulating on social media, depicting the assault of one Yetunde Amole by a suspected thug near the Oriental Hotel area in Lagos. The Command condemns this act in the strongest terms and wishes to update the public on the actions already taken. The incident occurred on April 7, 2025, at about 1400hrs, when the suspect, identified as Friday Onu, was caught attempting to steal Amole’s car battery. Amole, courageously intervened to prevent the theft, resulting in the suspect assaulting her. Following a prompt response by officers of Maroko Division, Friday Onu was arrested shortly after the incident and detained at the division. Preparations for his arraignment were underway when he suddenly took ill. He was immediately transferred to Falomo Police Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment under close supervision.  Chioma Jesus Breaks Record, Becomes First Female Gospel Artist to Minister at Deeper Life Event [video]


The event took place on August 16 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, as part of the Global Women’s Conference

Chioma Jesus, a popular gospel singer, has made history as the first female gospel musician to serve at a Deeper Christian Life Ministry (DCLM) session.


The ceremony took place on Thursday, August 16 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, as part of the church’s ongoing Global Women’s Conference. 


In a scene that struck a chord with attendance, Chioma Jesus was seen sharing pleasantries with Pastor William Kumuyi, the General Overseer of Deeper Life.


The conversation, which was recorded on film, soon spread online, gaining enormous notice.


During the occasion, Chioma Jesus led the female worshipers in a magnificent performance of spirit-filled songs supported by synchronized instrumentals.


Her performance, which represented a dramatic break from Deeper Life’s customary approach to the use of musical instruments, notably drums, was both poignant and well-received.


The video of her ministration, which was uploaded on social media, elicited a wide range of responses from internet users.


Some were impressed by her attire, while others remarked on the use of musical instruments during her worship service, considering the church’s long-standing hostility to their usage.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
