  Nigerian Police Officer In Kaduna Threatens Reprisal Attack On Southerners In North Over Edo Killings A police officer from Kaduna State, Hadaina Hussaini Dan-Taki, has threatening reprisal attacks on southerners living in northern Nigeria. Dan-Taki's comment came in response to the killing of 16 northerners in Uromi, Edo State. Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Dan-Taki, through a Facebook post, swore in the name of God, declaring that northerners in the north must take action against southerners.  He further warned that southerners had forgotten that their families were living in the north, vowing that "within one week, the southerners shall see the result." Death toll in new Bangladesh anti-government protests rises to 24.


 Thousands of Bangladeshi protesters demanding Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resign clashed with pro-government supporters Sunday, with at least 24 people killed in confrontations using sticks, knives and guns..


Protesters danced on the roof of an armoured car and, unlike the past month of rallies that repeatedly ended in deadly crackdowns, soldiers and police in several cases did not intervene..


A respected former army chief, Ikbal Karim Bhuiyan, also demanded the government withdraw troops and allow protests in a hugely symbolic rebuke of Hasina..


Demonstrators in Dhaka, surrounded by a tightly packed and cheering crowd, waved a Bangladeshi flag on top of an armoured car as soldiers watched, according to videos on social media verified by AFP..

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
