 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean.  Former Anambra Deputy Speaker Oseke Dies At 64


Former Deputy Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Harford Oseke is dead.


He was 64 years old and hailed from Umuawulu in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State.


The circumstances surrounding his death are still unclear


While some reports say Oseke collapsed during his regular exercise routine at Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka on Monday, others reveal that he had been sick and had been in the hospital until the story of his death broke on Monday.


He was a law graduate and had recently completed his Ph.D. in Public Administration at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.


Oseke’s political career started with the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and during Peter Obi’s administration, Oseke contested and won a seat in the Anambra State House of Assembly, where he served as the Majority Leader before being elected Deputy Speaker.


There is no official statement from the family or the state government but a close relative, who pleaded anonymity, said the death was one too many as Anambra had lost fine politicians in quick succession in recent times.
