 PRESS RELEASE  6TH OSOM GAMES TODAY DECLARED OPEN BY THE NSC CHAIRMAN.  The National Sports Commission (NSC) is making headlines once again with its commitment to promoting Nigerian athletes through regular internal competitions. Today, Mallam Shehu Dikko, Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), declared the 6th OSOM Games open in a colourful ceremony at the Moshood Abiola International Stadium in Abuja. This statement reinforces the Commission's dedication to their Renewed Hope Initiative for Nigerian Sports Economy (RHINSE) mandate and their goal of turning sports from a field of consumption to one of production. The OSOM Games, which stands for One Service One Medal, is an inter-security agency competition that aims to foster unity and camaraderie among the various security agencies in Nigeria. FLORIDA DEPUTY RIPS OFF BULLETPROOF VEST MID-RUN BEFORE PLUNGING INTO LAKE TO SAVE MISSING BOY. (PHOTO).

 Florida deputy rips off bulletproof vest mid-run before plunging  into lake to save missing boy.


Volusia County Sheriff's office received a report of a missing 5-year-old boy at around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday evening. Upon arrival to the residence deputies learned the child who is on the spectrum had escaped from a second story door. The family was alerted when an alarm went off, however by the time they checked, the child was no where to be found.


After deputies learned the boy was attracted to water they rushed to a nearby lake. As deputy Wes Brough arrived on scene he heard the child's voice and spotted him clutching onto a log. Deputy Brough showed zero hesitation as he raced towards the child. 


Bodycam footage shows him ripping of his bulletproof vest as he charged ahead. He then plunged into the dark waters and scooped the child up carrying him to saftey. 


Deputy Brough doesn't consider himself a hero and thanks God for putting him in the right place at the right time.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
