I’m recovering from failed kidney transplant, TG Omori updates fans

Award-winning cinematographer and music producer, ThankGod Omori, popularly known as TG Omori, announced on Friday that he has been recuperating from the stitches of his failed kidney transplant.

He mentioned that although he cannot express his gratitude to God with a backflip, he is getting better and will continue the fight.

While acknowledging the outpouring of love from his fans, he expressed his eagerness to bounce back and produce new music videos to delight his supporters.

In a post on his X account on Friday, Omori wrote, “Up and grateful, O Lord. (Sadly, I can’t backflip.) Thank you all for the prayers and well wishes.

“I’m healing now from the stitches of the failed one, I’ll continue the fight. I’ve been on it for the past year or two, and I can’t back down now.

“Love you all so much. Can’t wait to create new, crowded music videos for you all.”

MAGIC FM previously reported that the music producer had a failed kidney transplant after his brother donated a kidney to improve his condition related to a kidney ailment.

Omori revealed this on Wednesday, shortly after disclosing that he was going through a difficult time, and asked Nigerians to pray for him.

He wrote, “One year after my kidney failed, I just had a failed transplant at St Nicolas Hospital Lagos. Pray for me.”

The cinematographer also noted that he had been in the theatre three times already and that he was not destined to die yet.

TG Omori also recounted how his brother donated his kidney to him to help him survive the kidney-related ailment.

Omori shared this on Wednesday when he posted a picture of himself in a hospital bed on his Instagram account.

According to him, his only brother donated one of his kidneys to give him another chance at life.

He wrote, “Yesterday, my only brother gave me one of his kidneys so I could live again.

“Keep my spirit alive. I don’t want to die.”
