STATEHOUSE PRESS STATEMENT PRESIDENT TINUBU'S MESSAGE OF CONDOLENCE TO CHIMAMANDA ADICHIE AND HER FAMILY   With a deep sense of grief, I condole with Ms Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, her husband, Dr Ivara Esege, and the entire family on the passing of their son, Nkanu Nnamdi.   As a parent myself who has suffered the loss of a loved one, no grief is as devastating as losing a child.   I empathise with the family at this difficult time, and I mourn this sad loss with them.   Ms Adichie is a literary icon who has brought joy and light to many homes globally, and I pray she and her family find strength in the Almighty in this trying hour.   My prayers are with the family.   Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Federal Republic of Nigeria January 8, 2026

INDIANA BIBLE COLLEGE STUDENT LOSES HIS LIFE AFTER FALLING DURING IMPROMPTU BIBLE STUDY AT GRAND CANYON. (PHOTOS).

Indiana Bible College student loses his life after falling during impromptu bible study at Grand Canyon.

20-year-old Abel Mejia was from North Carolina but was a freshman at the Indiana Bible College. Abel was on a trip to visit churches in New Mexico and Arizona when his group decided to visit the Grand Canyon.

While experiencing the awesome beauty of the park the group were moved to hold an impromptu bible study. They were holding the bible study about a quarter mile west of the Pipe Creek Overlook when Abel slipped over the rim and fell 400 ft.

The park service reports that Abel is the 10th person to lose his life this year at the Grand Canyon. The family would like it noted that Abel was not on his phone at the time of the accident.
