 Dangote Hails World Bank Appointment to Global Investment Lab Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, has expressed gratitude over his appointment to the World Bank’s Private Sector Investment Lab, a global initiative aimed at boosting investment and job creation in developing economies. Dangote, President of Dangote Group, said the role aligns with his commitment to sustainable development, drawing inspiration from the economic transformation of the Asian Tigers. The World Bank announced Dangote’s inclusion alongside global CEOs from Bayer, Bharti Enterprises, and Hyatt, as part of an expanded push to drive private sector-led growth in emerging markets.

 Israeli army orders Gaza ‘humanitarian zone’ evacuation


Tens of thousands of Palestinians flee as Israel warns of expanded military action in southern city of Khan Younis.  The Israeli military has ordered more evacuations in southern Gaza after a deadly air strike on a school-turned-shelter in the north killed more than 100 Palestinians, according to local health authorities..


Hundreds of families carrying their belongings in their arms left their homes and shelters in Khan Younis early on Sunday, seeking elusive refuge..


Israel has repeatedly ordered mass evacuations as its troops have returned to heavily damaged areas where they had previously battled Palestinian fighters. The vast majority of Gaza’s 2.3 million people has been displaced by the 10-month war, often multiple times..


Hundreds of thousands have crammed into squalid tent camps with few public services or have sought shelter in schools like the one struck on Saturday in Gaza City. Palestinians say nowhere in the besieged territory feels safe..

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
