OVER 25 MILLION PHONES STOLEN IN ONE YEAR- FG. (PHOTO).

 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police.  LAGOS NSCDC RE - ORIENTATES SENIOR BOYS IN ISHERI CORRECTIONAL CENTRE.



The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC ), Lagos State Command, in line with the non - kinetic approach of the service in curbing crimes and reaching out to the populace, earlier today, Thursday, 29th August, 2024 extended, its engagement to the Correctional Centre for senior boys situated, in Isheri - Olowora, in a bid to share the right orientation and morals with the boys at the facility.  


The State Commandant, NSCDC, Lagos State Command, Mr Adedotun Keshinro directed, the Public Relations Officer of the command, Deputy Superintendent of Corps Oluwaseun Abolurin to attend the boot camp organized, by PROUDTOBEME, a Non Governmental Organization, with the  aim to render humanitarian services and enshrine a mind re - orientation, in the boys as a way, to impact their lives and arm them with both the general and specific skills and knowledge needed for them to be their best in life .


Present at the event also were the Government Officials of the facility, Mr Micheal Jacob, a 

Certified Psychotherapist ( facilitator ), who also made life changing presentations at the boot camp today. Members and staff of PROUDTOBEME led, by Mr Frank Iwok, Operations Manager and Amaka Uche, Special Project's Coordinator, Babajide Titilola, Business Development Manager, Opeyemi Adedeko, Administration Personnel were also present to facilitate, support and share provision items to the boys at the facility amongst others .
