 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police.  Veteran American boxer Floyd Mayweather Fires Referee mid Fight Against John Gotti III              


Floyd Mayweather was dominant in his latest exhibition fight against John Gotti III, the grandson of a former mob boss in Mexico


 The retired boxer had to switch the referee hallway through the fight as he emerged as the unofficial winner 


The American legend faced Gotti III last year, but their bout ended in a confrontation in the ring 


The two boxers were facing each other for the second time after their 2023 bout ended in extraordinary circumstances. 


In the fight held on Saturday in Mexico City, the 47-year-old dominated the fight, and Gotti's lack of offence was received by boos from an expectant crowd. 


Their last fight in 2023 ended in a bowl, and the latest showdown was heading the same route after referee Hector Afu from Panama exited the ring in the second round and was replaced by Alfredo Uruzquieta of Mexico, per BBC Sport. 


The Panamanian referee was reportedly unhappy about Mayweather's protests after he felt his left hook was illegal. After the referee switch, Mayweather was really troubled by Gotti, the grandson of a former mafia boss, per Nine.com.au. Mayweather was declared the unofficial winner of the fight. Mayweather retired in 2017 and has been involved in exhibition fights, mainly against celebrities.
