 NEMA COORDINATES SAR OPS AT THE SCENE OF BUILDING COLLAPSE INVOLVING A THREE STOREY BUILDING UNDER CONSTRUCTION AT GUDU AREA OF FCT At about 0945hrs on Saturday 16th May, 2026, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) was alerted of a building collapse at Gudu District of FCT.  Critical stakeholders including Federal Fire, FCT Fire, NSCDC, NPF, FRSC and Federal Capital Territory Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) were activated while a response team of NEMA from the Abuja Operations Office led by the Head of Operations Mr Zakari Abubakar  and operatives from AYA Emergency Response Bay (ERAB) were deployed to the scene for quick response and coordination.  A reinforcement team  from NEMA Headquarters led by the Director Search and Response (DSAR) Air Cdre Bature Usman was also on ground to provide necessary backup and supervision.  Mozambican man apprehended with 34 passports at Lebombo port of entry to Mozambique 


A Mozambican national man has been arrested for allegedly being in possession of 34 suspected stolen passports, at the Lebombo port of entry to Mozambique during an operation conducted by guards from the Border Management Authority (BMA).


BMA spokesperson Mmemme Mogotsi says that during the routine inspection, the BMA Border Guards discovered 34 passports accompanied by banknotes in the suspect’s possession.
