 Nicole Kidman recalls the heartbreaking moment she found out her mom died Nicole Kidman has opened up about the heartbreaking moment she learned of her mother Janelle’s death just as she was about to accept a best actress award at the Venice International Film Festival.  The Babygirl star recalled being backstage when she received the news, saying she returned to her room “completely devastated” and unsure how she would move forward without her mother, who had been such a central part of her life. She described the “harrowing” attempt to leave Venice in the middle of the night to return to Australia, only to turn back, overwhelmed and alone.  Director Halina Reijn later read a statement on Kidman’s behalf, dedicating the award to Janelle and acknowledging the collision of art and life in that painful moment.  Nwabali signs contract extension at Chippa United, named new captain


South African Premier Soccer League club, Chippa United on Thursday announced goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has signed a contract extension.


Nwabali, according to the Chilli Boys, put pen to paper on a three-year contract.


Chippa United also announced that the shot-stopper will be their new captain.


“We are pleased to announce that Stanley Nwabali has signed an improved three-year contract with Chippa United FC,” reads a statement on the club’s official website.


“We are incredibly proud of Stanley’s dedication and commitment to the club. His leadership on and off the field has been exemplary, and we believe he is the right person to guide our team through the challenges ahead. With this being said Stanley will be our new team captain for the upcoming season. ”


The goaltender joined Chippa United from Nigeria Premier Football League side, Katsina United in 2022.


The 28-year-old quickly established himself as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper.


Nwabali caught the eye with his impressive performance for Nigeria at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.
