 RE: MISLEADING CLAIMS REGARDING EXTORTION OF MOTORISTS BY LAGOS STATE TASKFORCE – YET-TO-BE-IDENTIFIED SECURITY OPERATIVES: ANOTHER CASE OF MISTAKEN IDENTITY The Lagos State Taskforce wishes to address a misleading narrative circulating on social media, particularly in a viral video shared by protesters and concerned groups who recently demonstrated at the Lagos State House of Assembly. The protest was in response to the alleged extortion of motorists by security operatives, yet to be identified, who are not officials of the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Unit. We categorically state that the Lagos State Taskforce had no involvement in the said incident.  Police Summon NLC President Joe Ajaero Over Allegations of Criminal Conspiracy and Terrorism Financing


The Nigeria Police Force has officially summoned Joe Ajaero, President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), for questioning in connection with an ongoing investigation into alleged criminal conspiracy, terrorism financing, treasonable felony, subversion, and cybercrime.


The letter of invitation, issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Intelligence Response Team (IRT), Guzape District, Abuja, was dated August 19, 2024. It specifically directed Ajaero to report to the IRT Complex, Old Abattoir, Guzape Junction, Abuja, by 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20, 2024.


The letter warned that failure to honor the invitation could lead to the activation of a warrant for Ajaero’s arrest.


The investigation is being handled by the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) under the leadership of ACP Adamu S. Mu’azu.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
