 Russia launches massive drone and missile barrage on Ukraine, killing at least 18 civilians and striking Kyiv and multiple cities  Russia carried out a large-scale overnight assault on Ukraine, launching hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles that killed at least 18 civilians and wounded more than 100 others across multiple cities, officials said Tuesday. The strikes hit Kyiv, Dnipro and other regions, with emergency crews working through destroyed residential buildings where some victims were trapped under rubble. In Dnipro, rescuers recovered the bodies of a 3-year-old child and a mother and her 8-year-old son, while officials reported 12 deaths in the city and six in Kyiv. The bombardment stretched from night into daylight, with explosions reported across wide areas of the country.  Port Harcourt Refinery: NNPCL announces September as fresh commencement date


The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has announced September 2024 as a new date for the commercial commencement of Port Harcourt Refinery.


The Chief Financial Officer of NNPCL, Umar Ajiya disclosed this on Monday while speaking with journalists in Abuja.


According to him, the petroleum products will be ready for testing before it is usually supplied to the domestic market in September.


Earlier, the national president of the Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria, Billy Gillis-Harry had hinted that the refinery is set for commencement.


This comes after several announcements of commencement dates that had not come to light.


Recall that in July, Mele Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPCL had announced that the refinery, with a combined capacity of 250 million barrels per day, would commence operation in August.


Similarly, the firm had announced March and July 2024 dates for the commencement of the refinery after its mechanical completion in December last year.
