  UFC fighter Allan Nascimento found dead at 34 after 'apparent heart attack' in his sleep UFC fighter Allan Nascimento has died at the age of 34 after suffering an 'apparent heart attack' in his sleep. The news comes just six weeks after the Brazilian's last fight in Las Vegas on June 20. He suffered a split decision loss to Mitch Raposo at UFC Vegas 119. A UFC statement read: 'This morning, Monday, August 3rd, our beloved flyweight fighter, Allan Nascimento, was found unresponsive after suffering an apparent heart attack in his sleep. 'Despite the efforts of the responding medical team, he was pronounced deceased at the scene. 'Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Allan's family, friends, teammates, and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.' PRESIDENT TINUBU GREETS GENERAL IBRAHIM BADAMASI BABANGIDA AT 83



President Bola Tinubu congratulates Nigeria's former head of state, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, GCFR, on his 83rd birthday, today, August 17. 


General Babangida, fondly called IBB, was Nigeria's military president from 1985 to 1993.


President Tinubu salutes the former head of state on this special occasion, noting his endeavours towards the development of the nation, especially in infrastructure and otherwise, notably the completion of the Third Mainland Bridge which at the time was the longest bridge in Africa.


The President acknowledges the role of General Babangida in the sculpting of modern Nigeria, and commends him for his services to the nation.


President Tinubu wishes the former head of state many more years in good health.
