 New Head of Service Urges Anambra Civil Servants to Embrace Efficiency and Accountability ‎ ‎By Chizoba Njaka  ‎ ‎The newly appointed Head of Service in Anambra State, Ngozi Anuli Iwouno, has called on civil servants to shift towards efficiency and accountability, promising improvements in welfare.  ‎ ‎Addressing staff at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat Complex in Awka, Iwouno outlined her vision for a professional, merit-based, and citizen-centered service that aligns with Governor Chukwuma Soludo's goals. ‎ ‎Iwouno emphasized that her mission is not just a statement, but a call to action, demanding sincerity and commitment from all workers. Real Madrid draws 1-1 at Mallorca on Mbappe’s LaLiga debut 



Real Madrid's LaLiga title defense got off to a rocky start as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Real Mallorca. The highly anticipated debut of Kylian Mbappe did not bring the win Madrid had hoped for.


The match started with a bang as Brazilian forward Rodrygo scored a beautiful curling strike, assisted by Vinicius Junior. However, Real Mallorca fought back with Vedat Muriqi's powerful header from a corner, leveling the score.


Mbappe had his chances, hitting the post and having a low effort saved, but Mallorca's defense held strong, denying him a winning start to his domestic debut.


Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti expressed his frustration with the team's lack of balance and defensive issues, calling for more intensity and resilience from his players.


“We went ahead, had chances to score the second, but in the second half we lacked balance,” Ancelotti told reporters. “We conceded counter-attacks, and it was not a good game. It was clear we need to defend better and maintain balance on the pitch.”


Despite Mbappe's promising moments, Real Madrid's first LaLiga match of the season ended in disappointment, highlighting the challenges they will need to overcome in their title defense.

 How Suspected Phone Snatchers Killed Army Lieutenant In Kaduna  An army officer identified as Lieutenant IM Abubakar has reportedly been hacked to death by a gang that specialises in phone snatching and other crimes. The deceased was killed in the Unguwan Sarki area of Kaduna metropolis during the week. A popular counter-insurgency expert and security analyst in Lake Chad, Zagazola Makama disclosed this in a Twitter post. Makama described Abubakar as a talented officer.  He said, “Lt IM Abubakar(Isa) A Young Talented Army Officer Was Killed By Phone Snatchers on His Way Home In Unguwan Sarki, Kaduna. May his soul rest in peace.”
