 NDC STATEMENT ON COURT RULING Our attention has been drawn to a ruling by the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja this morning, wherein His Lordship, Honourable Justice Isah Dashen, gave a ruling on an application filed by an unregistered association known as Peace Movement Party. The public knows that by December 2025, the Nigeria Democratic Congress  as an association complained of INEC’s refusal to register us as a political party, whereupon we proceeded to the Federal High Court. The Federal High Court upheld our constitutional right to freedom of association under the Constitution and compelled INEC to register us, which INEC did. Since then, we have started political activities, embarked on the registration of members, held congresses from ward to national levels, held conventions, and concluded primaries to all offices following INEC’s timetable.  Boyfriend allegedly kills girlfriend at NWU Vaal Campus before taking his own life


According to MDM news, the North-West University (NWU) Vaal Campus is mourning the tragic loss of 22-year-old Mamohlotsi Rebecca Nchabeleng. 


She was a fourth-year BEd student from Tafelkop who was allegedly found deceased in her room at a private residence on Monday, August 19, 2024. 


This devastating news comes just a day after a fatal car accident claimed the lives of six NWU Vaal Campus students.


Nchabeleng's body was allegedly discovered following the death of her non-NWU student boyfriend in Sharpeville. 


He was reportedly found deceased with a suicide note that revealed the location of Nchabeleng. 


Sergeant Sabelo Sigcu, the spokesperson for Vanderbijlpark Police, confirmed the opening of a murder case and ongoing investigations into the matter. 


The boyfriend's family allegedly alerted the police after discovering him deceased by hanging at his home. His suicide note allegedly disclosed that he had taken Nchabeleng's life before ending his own.
