On a recent episode of the podcast "Unwaxed with Sophia & Sistine Stallone," actor Sylvester Stallone revealed a startling fact about his life: he is an abortion survivor. Discussing his mother, Jackie Stallone, the actor shared, "My mother would say, ‘The only reason you’re here is because the hanger didn’t work.’" His daughters were shocked by this revelation, prompting Stallone to explain his mother's troubled past and the abuse she endured in a harsh orphanage, which he believes affected her ability to love.
Stallone's story is not unique; according to the Abortion Survivor’s Network, more than 85,000 babies have survived abortion attempts in the U.S. since 1973.
