Tell Nigerians nature of Tinubu’s trip to France – Atiku’s aide to Presidency

The spokesman to former Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, Paul Ibe, on Tuesday, charged the President to explain to Nigerians the duration of President Bola Tinubu’s visit to France.

Ibe also charged the Presidency to explain to Nigerians the nature of Tinubu’s engagement in France.

A statement by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale had informed that the President will be departing Abuja, the nation’s capital for France.

Ngelale explained that the President would return to Nigeria after his brief work stay in France.

The statement was, however, silent on the motive for the President’s trip.

Reacting, Ibe said Nigerians have taken a cue from the late President Musa Yar’Adua; hence the need for transparency over Tinubu’s trip to France.

Posting on X, Ibe wrote: “Could you kindly elucidate the duration of President Bola Tinubu’s visit to France, or is this engagement open-ended?

“Furthermore, might you provide insight into the nature of the “brief work” being undertaken in France, or is this matter held in secrecy?

“Given that the President of Nigeria serves as a public steward funded by the nation’s resources, it is of paramount importance that Nigerians are kept apprised of his travel plans, objectives, and schedules.

“I trust that, having learned from the Yar’Adua experience, we are committed to upholding a higher standard of transparency.”
