Texas school bars child with special needs from participating in football.
Seventh grader, Kayden Walker, recently started his school year at Kleb Intermediate School. Kayden was pumped to be part of a team sport. Kayden's mother (Elizabeth) shared that he is very energetic and determined, he also passed a physical and was cleared medically for sports.
What they were expecting was for Kayden to be able to practice with the team and be part of something he could feel really good about.
Sadly, Kayden has not been able to experience any of those things as the school won't even let him on the field at all.
Elizabeth stated at a recent meeting the coach said, "I didn't think you would even want him in athletics," after seeing Kayden's physical. She felt that he was being discriminatory towards her son especially since his physical completely cleared him and stated he was very healthy.
Elizabeth has filed a complaint with the Texas Education Agency and after they review the case they may investigate if necessary.
Elizabeth just wants Kayden to be able to have the same type of school experience as other children.
