 LASG PRESENTS STAFF OF OFFICE TO NEW ONIȘẸ OF ISE KINGDOM The Lagos State Government has presented the Staff of Office and Instrument of Appointment to Prince Ibrahim Adebowale Saliu, as His Royal Majesty, Alaiyeluwa Oba Ibrahim Adebowale Saliu, the Onise of Ise Kingdom in Lekki Local Government Area. The presentation was performed on Friday, August 21, 2026, by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Development, Dr. Nurudeen Yekinni Agbaje, alongside the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development, Mrs. Kikelomo Bolarinwa, with the approval of the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and the Lagos State Executive Council, following the demise of the late Oba Ganiu Adebowale Adegbesan, Onise of Ise Kingdom.  Why I chose to protest – Nursing mother protests with her infant after her husband was killed by bandits.


A woman in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has disclosed why she joined the "End Bad Governance in Nigeria" protest despite being a nursing mother.


The woman came for the protest with her infant in her hand.


She joined other protesters at Eagle Square in Abuja.


According to the woman whose identity was not revealed, her husband was killed by bandits in Katsina State and this spurred her to participate in the protest.


She added that police are shooting teargas at protesters gathered at Eagle Square and she questioned if they wanted to kill her baby.


"I came to protest the hardship in Nigeria and the police are shooting tear gas at us. Do they also want to kill my baby? People cannot eat. Things are hard," she said, according to Newsmen.
