 Dutch referee Rob Dieperink dies weeks after removal from World Cup officiating list Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died at the age of 38, weeks after FIFA removed him from its list of officials for the World Cup. The Dutch Football Association (KNVB) confirmed his death in a statement, saying it was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news. His cause of death has not been disclosed. Dieperink was arrested in April by the Metropolitan Police in the United Kingdom following a report of an alleged sexual assault involving a teenage boy in London. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said officers responded on April 9 to a report of sexual assault at an address in Croydon and arrested a man in his 30s on suspicion of the offence. Police later said that after reviewing available evidence, including CCTV footage and digital devices, the investigation had concluded that “the evidential threshold had not been met” and no further action would be taken.  Abia State Government says it may sanction Proprietors and Proprietress of Schools that resumed academic activities earlier than the proposed 23rd September resumption date


Commissioner for Information Prince Okey Kanu who stated this today while briefing journalists on the outcome of this week's Exco meeting Presided over by the Governor, regretted how some School owners neglected Government's directives to resumed the academic session, adding that their actions runs counter to the strong regulatory measures put in place by the Governor in the Education sector


The information Boss further stated that the Government would no longer tolerate the malicious destruction of Properties put in place for Public use, noting that management of a company that damaged newly constructed culvert along Ossah-Mission hill road had been arrested.


He appealed to Traditional Rulers and Youth leaders of Communities to take ownership of facilities put in place in their areas by the Government.


Kanu used the opportunity to announce that the Governor, Dr Alex Otti would be hosting a delegation of South East Council of Traditional Rulers on the 24th of this month, 


Answering questions from newsmen, the GM Umuahia Capital Development Agency, Mr Kingsley Agomoh, said over 15 Culverts had been destroyed along the newly commissioned 6-lane Aguiyi Ironsi Boulevard, adding that Government would no longer fold its arms and watch facilities put in place for Public use be destroyed.
