  A 23-year-old Nigerian woman identified as Osarugbe, has died in Libya. African beauty products   She passed away at about 11:33am on Friday, April 4, 2025 after battling illness.    Anti-human trafficking advocate, Yakubu Oyiza and her team had been raising money to bring her back to Nigeria for better medical treatment as hospitals in Libya rejected her.    According to Oyiza, documents for burial, autopsy, and land to bury her in Libya have been arranged, all costing approximately 350,000.   She alleged that the family abandoned her since she fell sick and had earlier refused to go to Kano and pick her up the day she was supposed to be brought back to Nigeria.    In a Facebook post on Saturday, April 5, Oyiza revealed that some family members of the deceased called them asking for Osas’ properties.  Aminu Dantata Visits Maiduguri, Donates ₦1.5 Billion To Flood Victims


Elder stateman and business mogul, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, has donated N1.5 billion to victims of the flood which ravaged parts of Maiduguri, Borno state capital.


Dantata made the donation when he led a delegation from Kano to Government House, Maiduguri, on Tuesday.


He extended his heartfelt condolences to Governor Babagana Zulum, the government and the people of the state, especially those who lost their beloved ones to the flood.


Dantata, 96, who lamented how the deterioration of the economy in the country, urged the elites and political leaders to repent and fear Allah in their dealing.


He also prayed for the peace and harmony of the Borno State and Nigeria at large.


Responding, Governor Zulum expressed heartfelt gratitude for Elder Stateman for his compassionate visit, acknowledging that its serves as a powerful beacon of hope and solidarity during the trying times.


“The people of Borno deeply appreciate this show of humanity by a 96-year-old to visit us. Let me say it, Our Baba has donated the sum of N1.5 billion to support the flood victims. May Allah bless and reward you with Aljannah. Mu gode, Baba,” Zulum said.


The development comes after Dantata’s nephew, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, also made a N1 billion donation to the flood victims.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
