AN OHIO NURSING HOME IS THE SUBJECT OF A HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION AFTER A 72-YEAR-OLD WOMAN PASSES AWAY DUE TO BED SORES. (PHOTO).

An Ohio nursing home is the subject of a homicide investigation after a 72-year-old woman passes away due to bed sores.

Lucy Garcia passed away on July 2nd. After a months-long investigation the coroner has deemed her death as a "homicide due to months of medical neglect".

Lucy was a resident at Arbors at Oregon nursing home in Toledo, Ohio. Now investigators are alleging traumatic and lethal neglect on the part of the facility.

According to the family's attorney, Matt Mooney, the bedsore had progressed to the point of being all the way to the bone. He states there needs to be accountability for what happened and Lucy deserved to be treated with dignity and respect.

Officials in Lucas County are investigating the nursing home after receiving the coroner report and criminal charges may be coming in the future.

This is truly a sad and disturbing story.  Our thoughts are with the family of Lucy Garcia and we hope they get the justice they deserve.

We will update.
