MALI RENAMES COLONIAL FRENCH STREET NAMES. (PHOTO).

 Mali renames colonial French street names Mali followed Burkina Faso and Niger on Wednesday in renaming streets and squares in its capital to get rid of their French colonial names, AFP reported. Streets bearing the names of members of France's colonial administration have been rebaptised in Bamako, according to a decree by the junta chief. Cedeao Avenue (the French acronym for the Economic Community of West African States or ECOWAS) is also now named after a new strategic confederation that Mali has formed with Burkina Faso and Niger – the Alliance of Sahel States (AES). In all, nearly 25 names have been replaced, among them boulevards, streets, squares and public establishments. Niger and Burkina Faso have already made several changes to street and monument names in the last two years. In October, Niger renamed several historic sites in its capital Niamey which previously bore references to old colonial master France. BAUCHI POLICE ARRESTED THREE SUSPECTS INVOLVED IN AN AUDACIOUS ARMED ROBBERY IN MISAU LGA OF BAUCHI STATE. (PHOTOS). #PRESS RELEASE.

Armed Robbery Syndicate terrorizing Misau LGA Apprehended Firearms Recovered, Suspects of the gruesome murder of Adamu in Bayan Gari arrested as Investigation is Ongoing.


The operatives of Bauchi State Police Command have arrested three suspects involved in an audacious armed robbery in  Misau Local Government Area of Bauchi State.


Suspects:

1. Ahmad Musa alias Abba Yausa 'm' aged 20yrs

2. Tijjani Abdullahi alias T.J 'm' aged 20yrs

3. Danladi Aliyu (aka Uban Daba) 'm' aged 30yrs


Alleged Crimes:

Criminal Conspiracy

- Housebreaking and

- Armed Robbery


The fact of the incident, sometime in July 2024, at about 0230 hours, the suspects, along with four others, namely Ismail Kawuwa, Sadiq Kange, Adamu Dan Kamfani, and Attahir (still at large), conspired and unlawfully trespassed the residence of Malumi in Misau LGA, Bauchi State. Armed with locally made pistols and seven rounds of live ammunition, they robbed Malumi of ₦250,000, three handheld phones, and an unspecified quantity of recharge cards from various networks.


Arrest and Recovery:

Ahmad Musa was apprehended by the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) with a fabricated pistol and seven rounds of live ammunition. Upon interrogation, the suspects confessed to their involvement in the crime.


The Commissioner of Police, CP Auwal Musa Muhammad, has directed the Commanding Officer, CSP Sani Mohammed (O/C RRS), to transfer the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department for a thorough investigation. Upon completion, the suspects will be profiled and prosecuted for the crimes they have committed.


The Command is working tirelessly to apprehend the remaining Fugitives. Members of the public with information on their whereabouts are urged to contact the nearby Police Station.


In another development, the Bauchi State Police Command has successfully apprehended two suspects involved in the gruesome murder of Adamu Alkasim 'm', Aged 18yrs, of Kofar Dumi, Bauchi.

The incident happened in the Bayan Gari area of Bauchi.


Suspects:

1. Usman Shehu (alias Babayaro) 'm' aged 20yrs 

2. Abdullahi Abubakar (alias Ababa) 'm' aged 19yrs


Alleged Crimes:

- Criminal Conspiracy

- Culpable Homicide


Incident Summary:

Usman Shehu conspired with four others to attack one Adamu, resulting in his death.


Upon receiving the report, Commissioner of Police CP Auwal Musa Muhammad ordered a discreet investigation, leading to the arrest of Usman Shehu and Abdullahi Abubakar.


Ongoing Investigation and Prosecution:

The case is still under investigation. Upon completion, the suspects will be profiled and charged to court.


Efforts to Apprehend Fugitives:

The command is working to apprehend the remaining suspects. Members of the public with information on their whereabouts are urged to contact the Police.


The Bauchi State Police Command warns that violence and crime will not be tolerated in the state. We will continue to work diligently to ensure justice and safety for all citizens.
