 NUT Protest : Wike Warns Against Politicising Insecurity The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has warned against politicising insecurity amid protests by the Nigeria Union of Teachers, FCT wing, over the killing and abduction of school staff and children in Oyo State. Teachers stormed the FCTA Secretariat in Abuja to condemn the killing of Michael Oyedokun and to demand the release of abducted pupils and teachers from Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle in Oriire Local Government Area. The FCT minister addressed the protesters on Tuesday, saying the federal government is on its toes working to secure the rescue of the schoolchildren and their teachers. Wike urged protesters to avoid turning the tragedy into a political issue and to give security efforts time to produce results. Over Lady's Death In Lagos


A Lagos State medical doctor, Idara Bassey, who was declared wanted in connection with the death of a 36-year-old woman, Abiola during a buttock enlargement surgery popularly known as BBL, has been arrested by the police.

The deceased had visited Bassey's clinic at Lekki Phase 1, Lagos State for the buttock

enlargement procedure, which tragically ended in her death.

BBL is a popular enhancement surgery that sculpts the buttocks while removing excess fat from other body areas.

Bassey is currently being investigated at the State Criminal Investigation Department in Panti.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed her arrest.

Bassey had previously fled after Abiola died during a buttock enlargement procedure at her clinic on August 26, 2024.

"Upon their arrival, the clinic owner directed a nurse to administer the injection on Abiola.

Moments later, chaos ensued as the woman lost consciousness and started gasping for breath.

"Desperate for help, the driver rushed Abiola to another hospital in Lekki Phase 1 but she was confirmed dead by the staff on duty upon arrival.

"Detectives from the command had visited the scene, gathered evidence, inspected and photographed the woman's remains, and subsequently transported the corpse to a morgue for autopsy." The Police had said.
