 NUT Protest : Wike Warns Against Politicising Insecurity The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has warned against politicising insecurity amid protests by the Nigeria Union of Teachers, FCT wing, over the killing and abduction of school staff and children in Oyo State. Teachers stormed the FCTA Secretariat in Abuja to condemn the killing of Michael Oyedokun and to demand the release of abducted pupils and teachers from Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle in Oriire Local Government Area. The FCT minister addressed the protesters on Tuesday, saying the federal government is on its toes working to secure the rescue of the schoolchildren and their teachers. Wike urged protesters to avoid turning the tragedy into a political issue and to give security efforts time to produce results.  How Bandits Attacked Catholic, ECWA Churches In Kajuru, Abducted Pastor, 30 Others

 

Three people have been feared dead, and 30 others have been kidnapped following a bandits' attack on churches in Bakinpah-Maro, Kajuru Local Government Area, Kaduna State, on Sunday.


The former chairman of Kajuru LGA, Cafra Caino, confirmed the incident, stating that the assailants arrived in large numbers around 10am.


They reportedly targeted both an ECWA church and a Catholic church. 


"The bandits came in large numbers and attacked the two churches," Caino said, according to The Nation. 


Among those abducted was Bernard Gajera, a pastor from one of the churches. 


The police have yet to release a statement on the attack.


This attack comes amid recent efforts by the Maro community to raise funds for a security post to attract more law enforcement personnel, addressing persistent security issues that have disrupted farming activities.
