 MODEL COLLEGES/UPGRADED JUNIOR SECONDARY SCHOOLS COMMENCE E-REGISTRATION FOR YEAR 2025 ENTRANCE EXAMINATION The Lagos State Government has commenced Year 2025 e-Registraton Entrance Examination (Screening Test) for primary 6 pupils transiting to junior secondary schools into its Model Colleges and Upgraded Junior Secondary Schools.  The Director, Lagos State Examinations Board, Mr. Adebayo Orunsolu confirmed that the e-Registration will commence on Thursday 6th February and ends on Friday, 16th May, 2025, adding that the Screening will be conducted through Computer Based Test (CBT) only between Wednesday, 28th May and Friday, 30th May, 2025, at the various CBT designated centres across the State. Mr. Orunsolu stressed that qualified pupils from public and private Schools are to pay a sum of #10,000 (Ten Thousand Naira Only) for the Application.  Paralympics: Onyinyechi Mark Wins Nigeriaā€™s First Gold Medal, Sets World Record


Nigeriaā€™s Onyinyechi Mark has shattered the Paralympic record in the womenā€™s 61kg powerlifting category, lifting an astounding 145kg.


This remarkable feat surpasses the previous record held by compatriot Lucy Ejike.


Markā€™s performance has all but secured Nigeriaā€™s first gold medal at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, with one lift remaining. Her closest competitor is attempting 138kg on her final lift, while Mark aims to further extend her record with a final attempt of 147kg.


Team Nigeria has a storied history in the Paralympics, consistently excelling in powerlifting and athletics. At the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, Nigeria secured ten medals, including four golds. The team has been a dominant force in powerlifting, with athletes like Lucy Ejike and Bose Omolayo setting world records and winning multiple gold medals. Nigeriaā€™s continued success at the Paralympics highlights the nationā€™s dedication to supporting and developing its para-athletes.
