 Sudan urges displaced citizens abroad to return home Sudan has called on all displaced citizens living abroad to return home, as the government steps up efforts to facilitate voluntary repatriation and remove barriers facing returnees. Prime Minister Kamil Idris said his office is committed to easing the return process and ensuring citizens can actively contribute to rebuilding the country, state media SUNA reports. Speaking during a visit to the Ashkeit border crossing in Wadi Halfa, Idris said authorities have taken steps to eliminate illegal levies and ensure that returning citizens are not subjected to additional fees, compulsory charges or arbitrary customs duties. He noted that such practices had previously placed an unnecessary burden on citizens without benefiting the state.  Paris to name sports facility after after dead Ugandan athlete Cheptegei


The mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, has said on Friday that the city will dedicate a sports facility in memory of Uganda Olympic runner, Rebecca Cheptegei, who passed away.


The marathon runner, who competed in the Paris Games last month died on Thursday, four days after she was doused in petrol and ignited by her boyfriend in Kenya, in the latest attack on a female athlete in the country.


In the women's marathon at the Paris Games, Cheptegei, 33, made her Olympic debut by placing 44th.


Dickson Ndiema Marangach, her Kenyan partner, attacked her in front of her kids on Sunday, leaving her with 80% burns, according to police and medical professionals.


Her death, which the United Nations called a "violent murder", triggered widespread condemnation.
