Kwara State Police Command has arrested six individuals in connection with the murder of Ogungbenro Blessing, a student at the College of Health and Technology in Offa. Among the suspects are Prophet Adebayo Adeniyi, commonly known as Prophet Ogunse, and his wife, parents of the primary suspect, Adebayo Joshua Happiness.

Police Commissioner Victor Olaiya confirmed the arrests on Friday, stating that Happiness had lured Awesu Mojisola, a 21-year-old student, to a fake "sign-out" party at Whitefield Hotel in Ilorin, promising her N15,000. Mojisola went missing after attending the event.

On August 13, the police received a report from Mojisola's roommate about her disappearance. Investigations revealed that Happiness had no intention of hosting a party but instead lured Mojisola to the hotel where he murdered her.

After the crime, Happiness stole Mojisola’s iPhone and N15,600 before fleeing to Offa, hiding the stolen phone. His parents were arrested for attempting to retrieve their son's belongings from his school to tamper with evidence. The phone and SIM card were later recovered.

Hotel staff also disposed of Mojisola's body at a refuse dump. The police have charged the suspects with conspiracy and evidence tampering. Further investigations are ongoing, and all suspects remain in custody pending trial.
