 LASG REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO END TUBERCULOSIS IN COMMUNITIES IN LAGOS STATE The Lagos State Government on Tuesday reaffirmed its commitment to completely eradicate Tuberculosis (TB) at the grassroots level across the metropolis.  The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Health District III, Dr. Monsurat Adeleke made this known during a courtesy visit by the Institute of Human Virology, Nigeria team to her Ikoyi office, emphasising the present administration's commitment to continually prioritise health security across the state. She said the Lagos State First Lady, Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Sanwo-Olu, is a Tuberculosis (TB) champion with the mandate of ending TB now and the continuous expansion of TB scale-up diagnostic centres.  According to her, “The First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Sanwo-Olu is a TB champion.  Reduce fuel price, Nigerians are hungry, Kukah tells APC


Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Mathew Hassan Kukah, has asked leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to reduce the current pump price of fuel, saying Nigerians are hungry.


He spoke on Friday in Abuja, during the official unveiling of The Progressive Institute (TPI).


Recall that the pump price of petrol per litre in the country was on Tuesday increased to N855, N918 or higher depending on locations.


But delivering his goodwill message during the APC event, Kukah said, “We Nigerians are hungry. Find a way of reducing the price of fuel.


“Unless democracy is anchored on sound foundation, we will be building on sand. I am concerned about the quality of democracy in Nigeria. We need to fix the problem with democracy in Nigeria.”


APC leaders at the event which is ongoing at the Abuja Continental Hotel, are the APC national chairman, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje; President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio represented by the deputy Senate president, Senator Barau I. Jibrin; and Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume.


Others are Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) and Imo State governor, Hope Uzodinma; Ondo State governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa; ministers; APC states Chairmen and many others.
