 New UK Prime Minister not the leader Britain needs — Kemi Badenoch UK Conservative Party leader, Kemi Badenoch, has congratulated Andy Burnham on becoming Britain’s new prime minister but said while he is “a nice man,” the country needs a leader capable of making difficult decisions rather than “a people pleaser.” In a statement released on Monday on X following Burnham’s assumption of office, Badenoch wished the new prime minister success but vowed to hold his government accountable as Leader of the Opposition. “Today, Britain has a new Prime Minister. I wish Andy Burnham every success. Because we need a Prime Minister and a Government focused on fixing the public’s priorities,” she said.  Fatal Crash on D2945 Road Claims Five Lives


A devastating car accident occurred on Sunday morning around 03:00 on D2945 Road between Mgobobodzi and Madadeni, resulting in the loss of five lives. The sedan carrying the victims overturned, causing a fire that left the occupants burnt beyond recognition.


One person survived the crash and is receiving critical care at a hospital. The cause of the accident is currently unknown, and an investigation is underway.


Mpumalanga MEC for Community Safety, Security, and Liaison, Mr. Jackie Macie, has urged motorists to exercise extreme caution on the roads to reduce fatalities and injuries.


"We must all respect road rules and drive with greater caution and consideration. By doing so, we can spare more lives and prevent tragedies that devastate families and communities. Let us use the roads safely and adjust our driving according to prevailing conditions," Macie said.


He also wished the critically injured victim a speedy recovery.
