 STATEHOUSE PRESS STATEMENT PRESIDENT TINUBU'S MESSAGE OF CONDOLENCE TO CHIMAMANDA ADICHIE AND HER FAMILY   With a deep sense of grief, I condole with Ms Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, her husband, Dr Ivara Esege, and the entire family on the passing of their son, Nkanu Nnamdi.   As a parent myself who has suffered the loss of a loved one, no grief is as devastating as losing a child.   I empathise with the family at this difficult time, and I mourn this sad loss with them.   Ms Adichie is a literary icon who has brought joy and light to many homes globally, and I pray she and her family find strength in the Almighty in this trying hour.   My prayers are with the family.   Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Federal Republic of Nigeria January 8, 2026

Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo joyfully welcomes her daughter Priscilla Ojo’s Tanzanian boyfriend, Jux into her home in grand style.


This came after Priscilla set up a grand gesture for Jux during his arrival in Nigeria, likely his first. She hired a convoy and dancers to receive him at the airport after which the couple shared a kiss.


Her mother, Iyabo Ojo took to Instagram to warmly welcome the Tanzania singer to Nigeria and into her family, playfully noting that “extra” is their middle name.


Iyabo expressed her affection for him, emphasizing that he is deeply appreciated and loved by her family, and wished him a happy birthday in advance.

In a video shared on her page, Jux arrived at Iyabo’s Lagos home, spreading money at the entrance as he respectfully greeted Iyabo, who graciously welcomed him into her home.


In another clip, the Tanzanian singer was seen at the dining table, enjoying one of Nigeria’s most popular dishes, Okro and Poundo yam.


Sharing the video, the actress captioned it, “Happy birthday to my dear son @juma_jux. I wish you all the best in life, including long life, prosperity, and good health. Thank you for bringing joy and love to my daughter’s life.

“You are welcome to our family with open arms. May God continue to bless and guide you. May your special day be filled with happiness, and may you always be a blessing to others. Stay happy and keep being your wonderful self!”.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
