Enzo Zidane, the son of the legendary footballer Zinedine Zidane, has announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 29.
Reports from Diario AS revealed that he has chosen to step away from the game to focus on personal matters, including his family and investments.
Renowned sports journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news, stating, “Zinedine Zidane’s son Enzo has retired from football at the age of 29, reports @diarioas."
Enzo's career spanned a decade and included 203 appearances, 13 goals, and 24 assists. He played for various clubs including Real Madrid Castilla, Alavés, Lausanne, Rayo Majadahonda, Aves, Almeria, and Rodez Aveyron before concluding with Fuenlabrada, where he made 29 appearances.
One of his most memorable moments was when he scored on his debut for Real Madrid’s senior team in a 6-1 Copa del Rey victory over Cultural Leonesa.
While Enzo has chosen to pursue other endeavors, his brothers continue to shine in the football world. Luca Zidane is currently Eibar’s starting goalkeeper, Theo Zidane plays midfield for Córdoba in the third tier, and the youngest, Elyaz Zidane, recently joined the Real Betis academy and represents France at the U-17 level.
