 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event.  200,000 PDP Members Defect To APC Ahead Of Kaduna LG Polls, Says Gov Uba Sani


Kaduna State governor, Uba Sani, has claimed that over 200,000 members of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), particularly in Southern Kaduna.


Governor Sani said the defection was a testament to his administration’s progress in promoting justice, equality, and transparency.


During the flag-off of the APC campaign rally for the October local government election, held in Kaduna on Monday evening, Governor Sani expressed confidence in the APC candidates, assuring them of his full support in advancing rural revitalization and ensuring economic stability across the state.


The governor commended the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates for their commitment and the unprecedented support they have garnered ahead of the local government elections.


Sani further highlighted the significant strides his administration has made in key sectors across the state, particularly in rural revitalisation and infrastructure development.


Governor Sani noted that since assuming office, his government has prioritised rural development, with projects including the construction of 62 roads across 23 local government areas. He added that 60 secondary schools have been built, and over 200 Local Education Authority (LEA) primary and secondary schools have been equipped within the 255 wards of the state.
