 COURT RESTRAINS RESIDENT DOCTORS FROM EMBARKING ON STRIKE  The national industrial court Abuja division has restrained all members and agents of the national association of resident doctors from calling, directing, organizing, participating in, and embarking upon any form of industrial action.  Justice Emmanuel Danjuma Subilim gave the order in an interim injunction filed by the federal government through the office of the attorney general of the federation and minister of justice.  The court temporally barred members of the association from embarking on any form of strike, work stoppages, go-slows, picketing, or any other form of industrial protest or disruption. The association is equally restrained from taking steps preparatory to any form of industrial action from the 12th day of january, 2026.  40 People Trapped As Building Collapses In Abuja. 


No fewer than 40 people are trapped under the rubble of a building that collapsed on Saturday in the Sabon Lugbe area of Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.


As of press time, sympathizers and emergency workers are on-site, working to rescue those still caught beneath the debris.


The building, reportedly under construction, collapsed in the early hours, prompting calls for immediate intervention from government agencies and emergency response teams.


Witnesses at the scene have expressed urgency for additional support to aid ongoing rescue efforts.


“No fewer than 40 persons are currently trapped in a building collapse that occurred in the Sabon Lugbe area of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. People are under this rubble. It is a building under construction. We are calling on the government and relevant agencies to come and rescue those who are trapped here,” an eyewitness said.


This incident comes just weeks after a section of a two-storey residential building collapsed in Abuja’s Kubwa area. In that case, four people were rescued, while an unconfirmed number of others were initially feared trapped. The Kubwa building was located close to Cupid Hotel on Sultan Dasuki Way.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”.
