Kansas driver’s license law puts some transgender residents in ID limbo A new Kansas law has effectively invalidated the driver’s licenses and other government-issued documents of transgender residents, leaving many in legal and personal limbo. Senate Bill 244, which went into effect immediately after the legislature overrode Gov. Laura Kelly’s veto, requires that the gender listed on a driver’s license align with the state’s binary definition of male and female. The law also directs the state registrar to “correct” birth certificates that do not match these definitions. Unlike similar restrictions in other states, Kansas’ law retroactively invalidates previously issued documents. Legal advocates warn that the law threatens the privacy and safety of transgender residents, forcing them to disclose their gender identity in situations ranging from employment applications to renting property or opening bank accounts.  53 Israeli forces injured amid resistance groups’ retaliation in 24 hrs

The Israeli regime’s military has admitted that as many as 53 Israeli forces have been injured amid continuous retaliatory operations by various resistances groups against the regime’s regional aggression.


The military announced the figure on Saturday, saying the casualties had been caused within the space of just 24 hours.


As many as 15 of the wounded were in critical condition, it added.


A total of 17 illegal settlers were also injured as a result of retaliatory strikes carried out by Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement against the vicinity of the city of Akka, the town of Shlomi, and the city of Haifa, which are located in the northern part of the occupied Palestinian territories.


Also on Saturday, the group hit gatherings of Israeli forces in the Malikiyah, al-Basah, Zarit, Rosh Pinna, Abirim, and Kiryat Ata settlements as well as the vicinity of the Avivim settlement with rocket barrages.


Targeting Zarit on another occasion, the group struck a Merkava tank with a guided missile, leading to its destruction and affliction of casualties among its occupants.


It also targeted the city of Safad, a military base in the Nasher area, and the regime’s Beit Hillel barracks, using various ammunition.


Hezbollah, meanwhile, confronted the Israeli military’s attempts to advance on several sites located in southern Lebanon.


The operations were carried out ”in support of the steadfast Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and in support of their valiant and honorable resistance, and in defense of Lebanon and its people,” it announced.


Hezbollah has launched hundreds of retaliatory strikes against the occupied territories and the Israeli forces trying to invade Lebanon since last October, when the regime began bringing Gaza under a genocidal war that has so far killed at least 42,519 Palestinians, and intensified its deadly attacks against Lebanon, where Israeli aggression has claimed thousands of other lives.
