A TEXAS WOMAN HAS BEEN ARRESTED FOR TAKING HER 17-MONTH-OLD DAUGHTER'S LIFE BY THROWING HER FROM A HOTEL BALCONY.(PHOTO)

A Texas woman has been arrested for taking her 17-month-old daughter's life by throwing her from a hotel balcony.

Police in Galveston, Texas were called to Beachfront Palms Hotel for the report of an "abandoned baby". When officers arrived on scene, they discovered a toddler wrapped in a blanket next to a pool of blood. The baby girl was rushed to the hospital where she was unfortunately pronounced deceased. Doctors also noted 3 puncture wounds on the baby girl's back, under her clothing.

As you can imagine, an investigation began immediately and the child was identified as 17-month-old Hannah Yonko. When the police found the mother, 30-year-old Channel Yonko, she was "asking for help and making comments about her baby being sick".

It was discovered that Channel and her daughter had been sharing a hotel room with Channel's sister, Mercedes. When police questioned Mercedes, she told police she had left that morning to visit her fiancée at the Victorian Hotel. She said while she was there, her sister Channel showed up pushing an empty baby stroller. This alarmed her. Mercedes told her sister that she wanted to return to their hotel room. Channel immediately advised her not to go to the hotel.

As the investigation continued, police recovered video showing the baby plummeting from what appears to be the third floor balcony. The baby "landed on the grass and rolled to the sidewalk" where she was discovered.

As they searched the premise, detectives also recovered a bag in the parking garage trash area that contained a key card for room 217. This is the room Channel was staying at with her sister and daughter. Detectives recovered a knife and a variety of items for the baby girl.

Channel was arrested on Wednesday, October 23rd and was charged with capital murder. She is being held without bond.

Rest in peace, precious girl. May you get justice.
