 PRESS RELEASE OPERATION HADIN KAI FOILS MASS ABDUCTION ATTEMPT AT FGGC MONGUNO Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), in collaboration with personnel of the Nigeria Police Mobile Force (MOPOL), successfully foiled an attempted mass abduction by ISWAP terrorists at the Federal Government Girls College (FGGC), Monguno, at about 0130 hours (1:30 a.m.) on 19 July 2026. The FGGC facility is currently being utilized by the Borno State Government as temporary hostel accommodation for students of the Federal Polytechnic, Monguno. The terrorists reportedly gained access to the facility with the assistance of suspected collaborators in an attempt to abduct students. Alert security personnel immediately engaged the terrorists with coordinated and overwhelming firepower, effectively stalling their advance with Sector 3 Quick Reaction Force (QRF) immediately reinforcing the school.  AFCON 2025: Libya files appeal against CAF’s decision to award match to Super Eagles


The Libyan Football Federation, LFF, has decided to appeal the decision of the Confederation of African Football, CAF, to award Nigeria three goals and three goals over their botched 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifier.


According to a Libyan outlet, alwasat.ly, they consider the verdict unfair.


The LFF has now hired Tunisian lawyer, Ali Abbas, to defend its position in the case.


The Match Day 4 fixture was scheduled to be played in Benina on October 15, but was cancelled after the Nigerian delegation saw their flight diverted.


Players and officials of the Super Eagles were then held hostage in an abandoned airport for at least 17 hours.


LFF have also been ordered to pay a fine of $50,000, with payment due within 60 days of notification of the present decision.
