 ASUU–ABSU SUSPENDS THREE-WEEK-OLD INDEFINITE STRIKE The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Abia State University Branch, wishes to inform the University community, all stakeholders and the general public that, following the resolution of Congress held today, Friday, 28th August, 2026, the Branch has suspended its three-week-old comprehensive industrial action with immediate effect. The decision of Congress followed a careful assessment of developments since the commencement of the strike and, particularly, the concrete steps taken towards addressing some of the major issues that necessitated the industrial action. Foremost among these is the full implementation of the 2025 FGN–ASUU salary structure, including the Consolidated Academic Tools Allowance (CATA), which has now been reflected in the August 2026 salaries of academic staff of Abia State University.  AFCON 2025: Libya files appeal against CAF’s decision to award match to Super Eagles


The Libyan Football Federation, LFF, has decided to appeal the decision of the Confederation of African Football, CAF, to award Nigeria three goals and three goals over their botched 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifier.


According to a Libyan outlet, alwasat.ly, they consider the verdict unfair.


The LFF has now hired Tunisian lawyer, Ali Abbas, to defend its position in the case.


The Match Day 4 fixture was scheduled to be played in Benina on October 15, but was cancelled after the Nigerian delegation saw their flight diverted.


Players and officials of the Super Eagles were then held hostage in an abandoned airport for at least 17 hours.


LFF have also been ordered to pay a fine of $50,000, with payment due within 60 days of notification of the present decision.

Innoson Gives Out Brand New IVM G5 and Salary For Life To The Man Who Prophesied About His Vehicle Manufacturing In 1979.  Last Saturday, July 22nd the Chairman of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Ltd, Chief Dr Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma OFR gave out a brand new Innoson IVM G5 to Mr Ikechukwu Osakwe popularly known as Osabros who prophesied to him in 1979 that he would be the first man in Africa to manufacture vehicles and sell to different African countries.  The prophecy was given at the period the then Innocent Chukwuma could not boast of a car, talk less of manufacturing one.
