 I Don’t Wish It On You – Genevieve Nnaji Knocks Trolls Age-shaming Her Veteran Nollywood actress Genevieve Nnaji has responded to social media trolls who made age-shaming comments about her. According to Naija News, a user on X reacted to Genevieve's post on April 3, 2025, stating that she couldn't escape aging and was getting older. The comment read, “You really cannot cheat nature. My fine wine is finally growing old.” In her reply, Genevieve pointed out that things could be worse; she could age significantly and eventually die if she were fortunate. She wrote, “It gets worse, bro. I’ll get so old I’ll die. If I’m lucky.” Another troll referred to her as “mummy,” suggesting she was old, but Genevieve quickly dismissed the comment, saying she wouldn’t wish old age on him.  Again, national grid collapses 

The national electricity grid has collapsed again


The grid collapsed at about 6:18 pm on Monday, leaving Nigerians in darkness.


Checks by our correspondent confirmed that power generation dropped from 3.87 gigawatts at 5 pm to 3.56GW at 6 pm and 0.00GW at 7 pm and 8 pm.


The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company confirmed the grid collapse in a statement on Monday evening.


The EEDC informed its customers “of a general system collapse that occurred at 18:48 hours today, 14th October 2024,” saying this has resulted in the loss of supply currently being experienced across the EEDC network.


 

“Consequently, due to this development, all our interface TCN stations are out of supply, and we are unable to provide services to our customers in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo States.


“We are on standby awaiting detailed information of the collapse and restoration of supply from the National Control Centre (NCC), Osogbo,” the EEDC stated in the statement signed by the Head of Corporate Communications, Emeka Ezeh.


The Abuja Disco also said, “Dear Valued Customer, Please be informed that the power outage being experienced is due to a system failure from the national grid at 6:58 pm today, affecting the power supply to our franchise areas.


“Rest assured, we are working with the relevant stakeholders to restore power as soon as the grid is stabilised. Thank you for your understanding.”.

 Actor Baba Ijesha appeals five-year jail sentence for sexual assault Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James, known as Baba Ijesha, has filed an appeal against his conviction for the sexual assault of a minor. He has requested the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn the ruling of the Lagos State High Court, which sentenced him to five years in prison. The conviction was handed down by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court on July 14, 2022 to Baba Ijesha. Baba Ijesha through his counsel Kayode Olabiran on Tuesday, told the appeal court that his client was set up and that he acted according to a script that he was invited to act on by his colleague. “The Appellant was set up.
