Andrés Iniesta finally hangs his boots after a 22-year career👏🥳❤️
Spanish football icon Andrés Iniesta, known for scoring the winning goal in the 2010 World Cup final, has officially retired from football at age 40. Over his 22-year career, Iniesta earned numerous accolades, including two European Championship titles and four Champions League trophies with Barcelona.
At an emotional event in Barcelona, Iniesta reflected on his journey, expressing pride in his achievements. A key figure in Barcelona's tiki-taka era, Iniesta played 674 games for the club, winning nine La Liga titles and six Copa del Reys.
Since leaving Barcelona in 2018, Iniesta played for Japan's Vissel Kobe and the UAE’s Emirates club. Now, he plans to pursue coaching.
Former teammate Lionel Messi, Samuel Eto'o and rivals like Real Madrid paid tribute to Iniesta, recognizing him as one of football’s greatest legends.
His legacy includes his crucial World Cup goal and helping Spain dominate international football with wins at Euro 2008, 2012, and the 2010 World Cup.
