ANTHONY JOSHUA DROPS TO 7TH POSITION IN NEW HEAVYWEIGHT BOXING RANKINGS
Anthony Joshua is now 7th in a new ranking of boxing heavyweight released by Ring Magazine after his devastating loss to Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium on September 21.
Before the fight, Joshua was third in the Ring Magazine rankings and was looking to cement his status as a top contender with a win over Dubois but was dropped four times enroute to a devastating defeat.
As a result, the former two-time world champion has now dropped significantly to seventh position, with Dubois overtaking him.
Dubois now sits in second position, only behind Tyson Fury who sits in first position and current unified champion Oleksandr Usyk who is the Ring Magazine champion.
Joseph Parker and Zhilei Zhang sit in third and fourth respectively, with Agit Kabayel and Martin Bakole in fifth and sixth all ranked above the declined Joshua.
Parker and Zhang have both recently picked up wins over Deontay Wilder to boost their position, while Parker sits above Zhang after beating him in December last year.
Kabayel beat Frank Sanchez to send him rocketing into the top ten, while Martin Bakole stunned American prospect Jared Anderson to continue his ascent.
AJ sits marginally in the top ten ahead of Dubois' other most recent victim Filip Hrgovic, while Efe Ajagba and Justis Huni round off the list.
Joshua and Dubois will rematch on December 21, with 'Dynamite' potentially in line to face the winner for the undisputed crown, though a rematch with AJ remains an alternative option.
