 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event. APPEAL COURT NULLIFIES RIVERS BUDGET PASSED BY PRO- FUBARA LAWMAKERS. (PHOTO).

 Appeal Court nullifies Rivers budget passed by pro-Fubara lawmakers


The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja, on Thursday, October 10, 2024, affirmed the judgement of the Federal High Court which set aside the N800 billion budget passed by five members of the Rivers State House of Assembly.


The lawmakers led by the Edison Ehie-led group are loyalists of Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara.


The Appeal Court dismissed the appeal filed by Fubara for lacking merit.


The court declared that the governor withdrew his counter-affidavit at the lower court in the matter and as such cannot commence an appeal in a matter he didn’t challenge at the trial stage.


The also affirmed Martins Amaewhule speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, slams 500k against appellant


"This Appeal is bereft of merit and hereby dismissed, the Judgment of the lower court is hereby affirmed. Cost of 500k awarded against the Appellant.


"All expenditure done by Rivers State Governor without the Appropriation of Rt.Hon.Martins is illegal to the extent of its expenditures


"The Appellant Governor of Rivers State treated Court Order with disdain


“You cannot by way of Appeal seek to revive what has been decided,” the court ruled.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
