 LASG REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO END TUBERCULOSIS IN COMMUNITIES IN LAGOS STATE The Lagos State Government on Tuesday reaffirmed its commitment to completely eradicate Tuberculosis (TB) at the grassroots level across the metropolis.  The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Health District III, Dr. Monsurat Adeleke made this known during a courtesy visit by the Institute of Human Virology, Nigeria team to her Ikoyi office, emphasising the present administration's commitment to continually prioritise health security across the state. She said the Lagos State First Lady, Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Sanwo-Olu, is a Tuberculosis (TB) champion with the mandate of ending TB now and the continuous expansion of TB scale-up diagnostic centres.  According to her, “The First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Sanwo-Olu is a TB champion. Social media went agog with enthusiastic reactions as Ben I. Omage released his satirical drama in a novel titled Kitchen Debate. The title of his book refers to a popular series of impromptu exchanges, through interpreters, between U.S. Vice President Richard Nixon and Chairman of the Council of Ministers Nikita Khrushchev.


In his book Kitchen Debate, Ben I. Omage, through the use of metaphors, euphemism, and a humorous writing style, makes a case for social change, citing popular examples on regional, national, continental, and global stages. A quick summary of the book suggests that the writer may have referenced well-known global figures in politics, economics, security, and more, including presidents of nations, instances in the Middle East crises, global warming, and insecurity.
