  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements. BOLLYWOOD ACTOR 'GOVINDA' RUSHED TO THE HOSPITAL AFTER HE ACCIDENTALLY SHOT HIMSELF IN THE LEG WITH HIS OWN REVOLVER. (PHOTO).


 Bollywood actor Govinda was rushed to a hospital in Mumbai on Tuesday after accidentally shooting himself in the leg with his own revolver. The incident took place at his residence in Juhu early in the morning while he was preparing to leave for Kolkata. The actor was handling his licensed revolver when it slipped from his hand and misfired, causing the injury.


Govinda’s manager, Shashi Sinha, shared details of the accident, explaining that the actor was about to leave for the airport to catch a flight when the revolver accidentally fired. He confirmed that the bullet had been removed from Govinda’s leg and that the actor’s condition was stable. “He is in the hospital, but doing fine,” Sinha said.


The Mumbai Police also confirmed that Govinda’s injury was not serious and that he was taken to the hospital as a precaution. No case has been filed as no complaint has been made, but a police officer mentioned that a diary entry would be recorded after speaking with the actor’s family.


Govinda later thanked his fans and the doctors for their support. He expressed gratitude for their prayers and confirmed that the bullet had been successfully removed, saying, “With the blessings of you all and my parents, I am fine now.”
