 Over 25 million phones stolen in one year – FG The Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey report of the National Bureau of Statistics, a Federal Government agency, shows that Nigeria recorded 25.35 million phone theft cases between May 2023 and April 2024. According to the report, this was the most common type of crime within the period under review. The report read, “The number of crimes experienced by individuals in Nigeria was analysed over a period of time. The results show that theft of phones (25,354,417) was the most common crime experienced by individuals, followed by consumer fraud (12,107,210) and assault (8,453,258). However, hijacking of cars (333,349) was the least crime experienced by individuals within the reference period.” It also noted that most phone theft cases occurred either at home or in a public place, and about 90 per cent of such cases were reported to the police. Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has called for orderliness amidst the continuous bullying of her colleague Toyin Abraham by netizens and overzealous fans.


Funke Akindele shared beautiful photos from her movie, Everybody Loves Jenifa, promotion and a heartwarming note.


The box office records breaker pleaded for love and kindness. She urged everyone to be kind with their words as it can make or break anyone who is being spoken to.


She spoke about the struggle of others and encouraged that words should be spoken or written to lift, encourage and support others.


She specifically appealed to her fans to ignore negativity and create a supportive community where everyone can be loved and valued.

It is no news that Funke Akindele and Toyin Abraham’s fans have been fighting unnecessarily on social media.


We recalls that Toyin Abraham penned an open letter to Funke Akindele about the rivalry, which took a toll on them personally and in their careers.


She spoke about how fan wars caused their unnecessary feud and congratulated her for achieving the one billion landmark in the cinema.


Following this, Toyin Abraham bashed netizens who came to her comment section to troll Funke Akindele.


A troll took to Toyin’s comment section and said her rival, Funke Akindele, would be recreating her post in 12 hours.


This did not sit well with the award-winning actress, who reprimanded the troll immediately.
