 Umueri Crisis Claim: False, Election to Hold April 8 - Says Anambra East Mayor By Nwegbo Ifeanyi  The Anambra East LG Chairman, Hon. Ifeanyi Chinweze, has denied allegations of a leadership crisis in Umueri General Assembly, calling the statement from Ikenga Umueri Unity Forum " false and misleading. Addressing journalists, Chinweze said Umueri is peaceful, with town union elections scheduled for April 8, 2026. He claimed Ikenga Umueri Unity Forum, which issued the statement, is actually frustrating the election with selfish motives.  He distanced himself, PG Chief John Metchie, and electoral committee chairman Barr. Eugene Aghaebe from the allegations, saying they were innocent. The controversy arose after Chinweze insisted Ikenga should not hold key positions like, Secretary, and Vice President simultaneously since they have president general, considering Umueri's three quarters (Ezi, Ikenga, and Invite). EDO: RE POLICE EXTORTION OC N380, 000 ALONG AGBEDE ROAD. (PHOTO). #PRESS RELEASE.

The Edo Command, in response to a complaint on X formerly Twitter where some Police men extorted the complainant  of the sum of Three Hundred and Eighty Thousand (#380, 000) along Agbede road, has identified the erring Police men attached to Operation Wabaizigan 012 as:


1. AP/No. 95636 DSP Madaki Abdulwahab (Team Leader) 


2. AP/No. 308947 Insp Arikpo Vincent; and


3. AP/No. 345619 Insp Oboh Sunday


The money have been recovered and returned to the owner. While, the DSP has been queried and the two Inspectors of Police are facing orderly room trial for their unprofessional conduct. 


The Command frowns at this unwholesome practice and would stop at nothing to ensure that they are punished so as to serve as deterrent to other Police men in the Command.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
