  President Bola Tinubu has identified the creative economy as a pivotal element of his administration’s economic diversification agenda, reaffirming his commitment to positioning Nigeria’s creative sector as a driving force for global influence. The President stated this at the launch of the 2024 Abuja International Carnival at Eagle Square, Abuja. President Tinubu, represented by Vice-President Kashim Shettima, said the carnival reaffirms the essence of who Nigerians are—”a people of culture, a people of art, a people of colour, and a people of shared values”. EX-MAYOR OF JOHANNESBURG ARRESTED FOR ALLEGEDLY RUNNING A FUNERAL POLICY SCAM . (PHOTO).


 Kabelo Gwamanda, the former mayor of Johannesburg, has been arrested for allegedly running a funeral policy scam in Soweto back in 2011. He reportedly lured many Sowetans to invest in the scam, then went into hiding and falsely claimed to be dead, forcing the company to shut down.


It's shocking that he later resurfaced and became the mayor of Johannesburg, Africa's richest city. The news of his arrest has likely sent shockwaves through the community, especially among those who invested in the scam.
