 LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF FANTI CARNIVAL The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions and restrictions ahead of the Lagos Fanti Carnival scheduled to hold on Monday, 6th April, 2026, around Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos Island. In a bid to ensure a seamless and hitch-free carnival procession, vehicular movement will be restricted along major adjoining roads linking TBS. Affected Routes are; King George V Road (by Mobil Filling Station), Flag House inbound TBS, Force Road inbound TBS, Onikan Roundabout inbound TBS, and WaterBoy Roundabout by Old Defence House. Additionally, all link roads to Moloney Road, such as Military Road (by Old Defence Building), Ajasa Street, Boyle Street, and Hawley Street, will be closed to traffic during the event.  Female student bites off schoolmate’s tongue over food in Umuahia


A Senior Secondary school female student identified as Amarachi Chibueze has reportedly bitten off the tongue of another student in a federal government-owned school in Umuahia.


The incident was alleged to have happened on Friday while the two students were quarrelling because of food in the school.


It was gathered that the attacker grabbed her victim identified as Adaeze on the neck before biting off the outer part of her tongue and then spitting it out on the ground.


It was also gathered that the victim had been rushed to a hospital in Umuahia by her school where she was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital.


An unconfirmed report said the attacker, Amarachi Chibueze has been expelled from the school while another source said she was being held to aid the investigation.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
