 NDC STATEMENT ON COURT RULING Our attention has been drawn to a ruling by the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja this morning, wherein His Lordship, Honourable Justice Isah Dashen, gave a ruling on an application filed by an unregistered association known as Peace Movement Party. The public knows that by December 2025, the Nigeria Democratic Congress  as an association complained of INEC’s refusal to register us as a political party, whereupon we proceeded to the Federal High Court. The Federal High Court upheld our constitutional right to freedom of association under the Constitution and compelled INEC to register us, which INEC did. Since then, we have started political activities, embarked on the registration of members, held congresses from ward to national levels, held conventions, and concluded primaries to all offices following INEC’s timetable.  Female student bites off schoolmate’s tongue over food in Umuahia


A Senior Secondary school female student identified as Amarachi Chibueze has reportedly bitten off the tongue of another student in a federal government-owned school in Umuahia.


The incident was alleged to have happened on Friday while the two students were quarrelling because of food in the school.


It was gathered that the attacker grabbed her victim identified as Adaeze on the neck before biting off the outer part of her tongue and then spitting it out on the ground.


It was also gathered that the victim had been rushed to a hospital in Umuahia by her school where she was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital.


An unconfirmed report said the attacker, Amarachi Chibueze has been expelled from the school while another source said she was being held to aid the investigation.
