 New UK Prime Minister not the leader Britain needs — Kemi Badenoch UK Conservative Party leader, Kemi Badenoch, has congratulated Andy Burnham on becoming Britain’s new prime minister but said while he is “a nice man,” the country needs a leader capable of making difficult decisions rather than “a people pleaser.” In a statement released on Monday on X following Burnham’s assumption of office, Badenoch wished the new prime minister success but vowed to hold his government accountable as Leader of the Opposition. “Today, Britain has a new Prime Minister. I wish Andy Burnham every success. Because we need a Prime Minister and a Government focused on fixing the public’s priorities,” she said.  GIRLS VISION FOR THE FUTURE: THRIVING BEYOND DISABILITY 


The General Manager of the Lagos State Office for Disability Affairs, Mrs. Adenike Oyetunde-Lawal, joined Raising Star Africa in celebrating this year’s International Day of the Girl Child, themed “Girls' Vision for the Future: Thriving Beyond Disability.”


To commemorate the day, an inspiring session was held with students at State Junior Grammar School (Special), Itolo Street, off Eric Moore, Surulere, Lagos, on Friday, 11th October 2024.


During the event, the General Manager shared her personal experiences, motivating the young girls to believe in their potential and pursue their dreams. She showed them that they can rise above challenges and achieve anything they set their minds to.


The event served as a powerful reminder that every girl, regardless of her circumstances, can become the best version of herself.
