 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. Veteran multiple award winning actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele made her opinion known about the ongoing japa issues in the country.


As today, the 1st of October 2024, marks the 64th year that Nigeria gained her independence, the actress took to her Instagram to celebrate the country’s new year.


Funke Akindele appreciated and praised every Nigerian for their perseverance in this period of trial in the country


The mother of two boys expressed her utmost belief that Nigeria will be great again and therefore she will not be relocating to another country for greener pastures.


The highest grossing producer counted the blessings and achievements that she attainted in Nigeria which include being able to empower the youtha, ability to shoot a movie with over one hundred and seventy five (175) crew members, the selling out of her movie release.


Akindele Acknowledge that Nigeria got her all these and many more and she will not be deserting the country during her hard times.
